Scope

This policy applies to the Wathīqah web application hosted at wathiqah.akanors.com and any related services that integrate with Google API Services via OAuth 2.0. These services are provided by Akanors Ventures Ltd (akanors.com).

Data We Collect

Account Data

• Name, email address, and authentication identifiers
• Profile preferences and settings

Ledger Data

• Transaction records (funds/items given, received, returned)
• Contacts (names, email, phone) and optional witnesses
• Transaction metadata (timestamps, descriptions, amounts)

Device & Usage Data

• Basic device and browser information
• Log data for error diagnostics and performance

Google API Services

We use Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate users and, where you explicitly opt in, to access limited Google user data in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy (including the Limited Use requirements).

Authorization Scopes

• openid, email, profile: Authenticate and obtain your basic profile and email address.
• Optional (contacts.readonly): If you choose to import contacts, we may request read‑only access to your Google contacts via the People API.

Handling of Google Data

• We request only the minimum scopes necessary and only after your explicit consent.
• We use Google data solely to provide requested features (e.g., sign‑in, optional contact import) and do not sell or transfer Google user data to third parties except as required to provide the service or by law.
• Access tokens and refresh tokens are secured and never used for advertising.
• You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions page.

We comply with Google API Terms of Service and the Google API Services User Data Policy. We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless: (i) you explicitly consent, (ii) it’s necessary for security or fraud prevention, or (iii) required by law.

How We Use Data

• Provide, maintain, and improve ledger functionality
• Authenticate users and secure accounts
• Facilitate transactions, witnesses, and shared access features
• Communicate service updates and respond to inquiries
• Comply with legal obligations

Data Retention & Deletion

• Account and ledger data are retained while your account remains active.
• Upon account deletion, we permanently delete personal data and ledger content within 30 days, subject to lawful retention requirements.
• You may request deletion or export of your data at any time via the in‑app settings or by contacting us.

Security Measures

• Transport Layer Security (TLS) for data in transit
• Strong encryption for sensitive data at rest
• Least‑privilege access controls and regular access reviews
• Audit logging and monitoring for suspicious activity
• Secure storage and rotation of API credentials and tokens

Cookies & Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to maintain authentication, preferences, and session integrity. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising. If analytics are enabled, they operate with privacy‑preserving settings.

Your Rights & Compliance

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of certain processing.

To exercise rights, use the in‑app controls or contact us. We will verify and respond within statutory timeframes.

If data are transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

Children’s Privacy

Wathīqah is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
